To convert seconds to hours, divide the number of seconds by 3,600:

Divide 5,400 by 3,600:
5,400 s ÷ 3,600 = 1.5 h

Converting Seconds to Hours, Minutes, and Seconds
A decimal-hour result is useful for calculations, but it may not be the easiest way to read a duration. You can separate the time into whole hours, minutes, and seconds:
- Divide the total seconds by 3,600 to find the whole hours.
- Divide the remaining seconds by 60 to find the whole minutes.
- Any amount left is the remaining number of seconds.
Example: Convert 10,000 seconds
There are two complete hours in 10,000 seconds:
